Michael has been hired for a range of projects, including episodic, feature length documentaries, corporate videos, online marketing, informative videos, and music videos. His work can be seen on ABC, ESPN, A+E, PBS, Lifetime, UFC, Netflix and more. He headed up EPK video production for Z Nation, an hour long scripted episodic series that aired on SYFY and Netflix. He conducted formal interviews and shot behind-the-scenes footage for all 65 episodes of the show.

Jib Operator

Michael’s camera work includes operating a Jimmy Jib for live events, music videos, episodic TV and feature films. For the last 4 years, he worked with PBS, swinging his Jimmy Jib for Inland Sessions, a series featuring performances by local musicians.

He can build his jib on a mountain top, downtown on location, and in the studio. His Jimmy Jib Triangle Pro by Stanton Video Services can carry a camera package weighing 50 lbs with an arm of any length, including at the maximum length of 30 ft. The jib includes a remote head system capable of tangle-free 600-degree-camera-moves. The jib can run up to 10 hours from its built-in battery pack.

Gaffer

Michael’s strong background in lighting has led to numerous jobs as a gaffer. Michael has worked for Accenture, SIG SAUER, National Geographic, Lucidyne, Merck, Amazon, HBO Sports, Beretta, SureFire, Modelo, American Express, Time Warner Cable, GMC, Google, Microtech, and booking.com. Projects have taken him to the mountaintops of northern Idaho for feature films and 6,000 feet underground for a series of corporate videos for Hecla Mining.

In addition to a thorough understanding of lighting theory and technique, Michael is fascinated with electricity itself. Over the years, he has refurbished 15 Mole-Richardson tungsten light fixtures, including a 5,000-watt Studio Senior and a 10,000-watt Big Eye.
